What do you mean a “health coach”?
|Have you ever noticed the difference a personal trainer makes when you train for a specific goal? Say, you want to participate in a half marathon or learn how to lift weights correctly or build body mass, you may realize you are not the expert, so you will hire one. When you employ a trainer, you are more likely to show up and follow his/her advice to get faster results. There is also the embarrassing factor, you know the trainer expects you to show up and put some effort to reach your goal. You paid the person, why wouldn’t you show up?|
|Similarly, when you have specific wellness goals, be that weight loss, controlling stress, conquer your cravings or find the movement that fits you best, when you work with a health coach you are more likely to show up for yourself. Why is that? Because you have someone to keep you accountable to your goals and the action items designed to make you reach your destination.|
|As a health coach I guide you to accept that your body is your best wellness expert. I teach you to trust your intuition. I hold you accountable. We have weekly meetings and we check on the actions that you committed to. No judgement here: 1% improvement is progress, and you need to acknowledge that. You may be falling off tracks and that is OK, course correction is part of the health coaching. We also take time to celebrate your achievement.
